Kathleen Bühler


Dr. phil. Kathleen Bühler (*1968) studied history of art, film studies and philosophy and received her PhD at the University of Zurich on Carolee Schneemann’s experimental film making (Marburg 2009). She is curator and head of the department for contemporary art at the Kunstmuseum Bern. Before that she was curator at the Museum zu Allerheiligen in Schaffhausen, at the Kunstmuseum des Kantons Thurgau Kartause Ittingen, at the Swiss National Museum, at the Flick Collection in Zurich and conservator at the Bünder Kunstmuseum in Chur. She has written numerous exhibition reviews for the Feuilleton of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and regular contributions on international contemporary art in newspapers, magazines and exhibition catalogues. She has worked on exhibitions with Tracey Emin (2009), Yves Netzhammer (2010), Thomas Hirschhorn (2011), Berlinde De Bruyckere (2011), Zarina Bhimji (2012), Bill Viola (2014) und Bethan Huws (2014).
