Jens Rüffer

Born 1964. Between 1986 and 1994 Jens Rüffer studied Cultural History, History of Art, and Philosophy in Berlin and York (GB). He received a Magister Artium in Cultural History at the Humboldt-University of Berlin and a Master of Arts in History of Art at the University of York supervised by Prof. Christopher Norton. In 1998 he completed a PhD-Thesis at the Seminar of Aesthetics at the Humboldt University with a work on the aesthetical culture of the Cistercian Order in the Middle Ages supervised by Prof. Reschke. Jens Rüffer is currently working as a research fellow at the Department History of Art (University of Bern) with Prof. B. Nicolai, chair of History of Architecture and Preservation of Historic Monuments, within a larger interdisciplinary project on the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
