Kathrin Sonntag’s artistic production (* 1981 Berlin, Germany) is inspired by the concept of the cabinet of curiosities, her fascination with magic, the mastery of the moment and the closeness to or distance from places or receptacles of secrets. All these elemtents are contents and instrumentalisation techniques of her art. Sonntag sees herself and her artistic manifestations as a medium in which – just like a successful magic trick - the audience’s readiness for reception becomes the event as well as the experience of the artwork.
