Kunstraum Oktogon, Mittwoch, 22. August 2012, 13.30 Uhr

Burak Arikan's talk focuses on the design and understanding of complex networks through mapping and visual analysis within the context of contemporary art. Starting with graph theory, an emphasis will be placed on network literacy, the relationship to taxonomies for art and politics, and examples of network based art from Fluxus to Hacktivism and humanities research including reconstruction of the network of enlightenment correspondence that linked thinkers like Locke, Voltaire and Rousseau.
