Damion Searls


Damion Searls is the author of INKBLOT, the first biography of Hermann Rorschach and a history of the Rorschach Test, forthcoming in 2015.

He is an eminent American translator from German, French, Dutch, and Norwegian, most recently of Hermann Hesse's Demian, Elfriede Jelinek's her not all her: on/with robert walser, Walser's A Schoolboy's Diary and Other Stories, and the poems by Walser in Thomas Schütte's Watercolors for Robert Walser and Donald Young, 2011-2012. 

He also edited a one-volume abridgment of Henry David Thoreau’s The Journal: 1837-1861 and compiled all the passages cut from a 2007 abridgment of Moby Dick into a volume called ;or The Whale.
