The interest for the Sommerakademie 2011 curated by Pipilotti Rist was enormous. The selection criteria were high artistic quality and a clear ability to connect with this year’s theme Juicy Contaminated Circle - From Art to Life and Back.

The overall outstanding high standard of the 96 applicants out of 25 countries included 83 artist and 13 art critics made it hard for the jury to take decisions.
