Birgit Jooss

Birgit Jooss studied art history, history and art education at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich and graduated in 1998 with a PhD on "Living pictures. Physical imitation of works of art in the Age of Goethe ". Since 1992 she has been working at various museums (German Historical Museum Berlin, Murnau Castle Museum and the Museum Villa Stuck, Munich), for television and art history at the Institute of the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich (after that as a lecturer). From 2002 to 2007 she managed the office "eurinos. kunst-und kulturrecherche ", between 2003-2007 she was engaged at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich preparing for the 200th anniversary and building up an archive. Since 2007 she has been managing the German Art Archive in the Germanic National Museum, Nuremberg.
