Michael Diers

Michael Diers,  professor for art- and strip cartoon at the University of fine Arts of Hamburg and at the Humbold University in Berlin. His research emphasis: art of the renaissance, the modernity, the 20th century and the present, photography and new media, political iconography, art- and media theory, history of science. Co-editor of the student’s edition of the collective writings Aby Wartburgs, Berlin 1998. Long standing editor of the paperback series „kunststück“ and of the serie „Fundus-Bücher“. Numerous essays- and book publications, including  „Warburg aus Briefen“ (1991), „Mo(nu)mente“ (editor, 1995) „Schlagbilder“ (1997), „Hans Haacke, ‘Der Bevölkerung’“ (2000, co-editor „Topos RAUM“ (2005 co-editor) „Fotografie Film Video. Beiträge zu einer kritischen Theorie des Bildes“ (2006), „Topos Atelier. Werkstatt und Wissensform“ (2009, co-editor).
