Peter Fischer

Peter Fischer (*1956 in Schaffhausen) studied law (1976-1979), and art history, newer German literature and music (1984-1991) at the University of Zurich. In 1982 he received his diploma as a librarian. From 1991 to 1994 he worked at the Swiss Institute for Art Research before becoming curator for the Daros Collection in 1995. In 2001 he became the director of the Museum of Art Lucerne where he stayed until 2011. During that time he furthermore acted as a member of the committee for visual arts of the city of Lucerne (2001-2011), as a member of the advisory committee of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (2005-2011) where he also taught from 2003-2011, and as a board member for the Association of Swiss Fine Art Museums. From 2011 - 2016 he was director of the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern. He is owner of the Kunst & Kultur GmbH.
